Index Calculator

The VESSELINDEX® index calculator empowers users to efficiently compare and benchmark any dry bulk or tanker vessel.

VESSELINDEX® is built around voyages inspired by the ranges used by the Baltic Exchange. To measure the characteristics of any given dry bulk vessel, the voyages are tailored to challenge following 4 parameters: Deadweight - Draft - Cubic & Speed/consumption.

The VESSELINDEX® interface is designed for user-friendliness and incorporates numerous valuable features that streamline day-to-day chartering tasks. These include the "list functionality," which permits the storage of multiple vessels, and the "forward module," allowing users to input their preferred fuel prices and market levels, ultimately saving valuable time.

As a distinctive feature, VESSELINDEX® also provides immediate due diligence guidance concerning vessel speed and consumption.

EEXI

Upcoming IMO regulations on ship efficiency and emission standards will require ship owners to focus on compliance and reducing emissions.
EEXI (Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index) is a central part of this.

Because of EEXI, most bulk carriers and tankers will become restricted on speed and thereby on operational flexibility. This will have an impact on time charter (TCE) earnings.

With VESSELINDEX® - EEXI Analysis tool users can:
  • - calculate commercial impact on time charter (TCE) earnings.
  • - obtain guidance on maximum operational speed.
  • - calculate EEXI to establish IMO compliance of any vessel.

CII

Upcoming IMO regulations on ship efficiency and emission standards will require ship owners to focus on compliance and reducing emissions. CII/AER (Carbon Intensity Indicator/Annual Emission Ratio) is a central part of this.

Unlike most other regulations, complying with CII is a moving target and requirements will become tighter and tighter.

Over the next couple of years most bulk carriers and tankers will become affected on speed and thereby on operational flexibility. This will have an impact on time charter (TCE) earnings.

With VESSELINDEX® - CII Analysis tool users can:
- Simulate CII performance of any bulk carrier or tanker.
- Assess risk against C/P clauses.
- Customize the vessel operational profile to match actual trading patterns.
GHG

GHG Rating

The VESSELINDEX® - GHG rating solution enables users to compare vessel efficiency, apple- to-apple, in a fully transparent manner. Further users can by the click of a button issue a GHG-certificate which contains all the information needed to satisfy counterparts in terms of:
- IMO compliance (Green-speed® limit).
- GHG rating (A - E rating), reflecting the CII/AER regulations.
- CO2 footprint (Carbon Intensity Indicator - EEOI).

The GHG certificate is uniquely timestamped to guarantee counterparts of the authenticity and relevance.
The VESSELINDEX® - GHG rating will help owners and operators balance the, often, intangible requirements from charterers by providing a full overview of the dynamics related to the GHG profile of a vessel.

Referring to a VESSELINDEX® - certificate in your GHG clause will enable a flexible and transparent way of negotiating around the charterers GHG requirements.
